Lynn Vairo has served as the Executive Director of Program Development Services (PDS) since 2012. She has held increasingly senior roles at PDS, starting in 1992 as a Project Manager. She was promoted to Associate Executive Director in 2004 and Executive Director in 2012.
Throughout her career, Lynn has played a crucial role in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1976. She has held numerous positions both in residential and day settings in direct service and administration in the field of I/DD.
Lynn is a registered nurse licensed in New York State and has worked in this capacity in hospital settings as well as in programs certified by OPWDD.
Lynn provides innovative and progressive solutions to the Agency with high-quality individualized care, focusing on governance and advice on all such matters. It is her passionate belief that every person should be given the opportunity to achieve his or her full social and intellectual potential by receiving appropriate individualized support, and to live in an environment of acceptance, understanding and security that promotes individual development.
In addition to positions in executive leadership, Lynn’s former and current participation on nonprofit boards and councils includes roles with Interagency Council of Developmental Disabilities Agencies, AGNY, The NY Alliance for Inclusion and Innovation, The Coalition on Sexuality and Disability, The National Association of Sports for Cerebral Palsy and The National Therapeutic Recreation Association.
